AMBOY — The Amboy High School Lady Clippers volleyball team hosted a Pink Night on Oct. 7 during their game against Ashton-Franklin Center Raiders. The team raised over $5,000 during the night by hosting a t-shirt sale, sucker sale, bake sale, silent auction and 50/50 raffle. All proceeds went to the CGH Health Foundation Women’s Health Program.

Because of their generosity, women living in the Sauk Valley area, who are in need of health services, will be able to receive a screening mammogram with no out-of-pocket costs, regardless of insurance coverage or ability to pay. In addition, if more tests such as diagnostic screenings, ultrasounds, breast biopsies or MRIs are needed, the Foundation will help pay for a portion of these costs.

Proceeds will also provide CGH Medical Center cancer patients with comfort bags. These totes contain gas and meal gift cards, soothing lotions, mint tea, queasy pops, ice packs, a water bottle, puzzle books and other items which can assist patients in their journey. Meals for Oncology patients receiving chemotherapy, scarves, turbans, wigs, camisoles and other items will be provided to patients as needed. Donations are accepted year-round by calling Amanda at 815/625-0400, ext. 5575 or making a gift online at www.cghmc.com/foundation.
