LEE COUNTY — The Lee County Sheriff’s Office announced it issued 23 citations for hands-free law violations, along with four speeding citations, one driving while license revoked, one no valid driver’s license and one other citation for a moving violation during April’s Distracted Driving Awareness Month enforcement campaign.

Lee County Distracted Driving Awareness Month results announced

LEE COUNTY The Lee County Sheriff’s Office announced it issued 23 citations for hands-free law violations, along with four speeding citations, one driving while license revoked, one no valid driver’s license and one other citation for a moving violation during April’s Distracted Driving Awareness Month enforcement campaign.

Deputies also issued 11 warnings for various offenses.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office joined forces with the Illinois State Police, local law enforcement and highway safety partners for this enforcement effort.

The Illinois distracted driving campaign was funded with federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
