Lady Clippers place second at Bureau Valley Invite, DuPec Invite


AMBOY — The Amboy-LaMoille girls’ track team had a solid second-place performance in the Bureau Valley Invitational on April 24 at Manlius. The Lady Clippers scored 131.5 points compared to 154.5 for the host Storm.

Bella Yanos had a pair of first-place finishes for A-L in the sprints. She broke the tape at 13.65 seconds in the 100-meter dash and claimed the 200-meter dash in 28.05. Also placing first on the day was Jillian Anderson in the high jump (5-0).

Seven first-place finishes powered the Lady Clippers to second place in the standings of the DuPec Invitational on April 27.

Milledgeville won the meet with 170.5 points, while Amboy-LaMoille was a close second with 164.5 points. There were seven teams in the meet.

Yanos and Jones each had a pair of first-place efforts. Yanos won the 100-meter dash in 13.71 and took the 200 in 28.42. Jones picked up wins in the 100-meter hurdles (17.55) and the triple jump (33-1). Other individual firsts went to Samantha Nauman in the 800-meter run (2:52.33) and Anderson in the high jump (4-6).

Also, the 4x200 relay team broke the tape in a time of 1:55.26. Runners were Anderson, Lexi Ketchum, Stephanie Nave and Yanos.

April 27 – DuPec Invite
