Lady Clippers add two more wins to their regular season wins

AMBOY — The Amboy Lady Clippers added two wins to their total after polishing off Milledgeville and Newark. AHS sports a 19-7 record with one week left in the regular season.

Amboy made the trek to Milledgeville on Feb. 4 and came away with a lopsided 48-17 victory. The Lady Clippers jumped out to a 14-2 first-quarter lead and coasted the rest of the way.

Olivia Dinges and Maeve Larson each scored 13 points for the winners. Dinges added eight rebounds, five assists, five steals and three blocked shots. Larson chipped in with seven boards and four steals. Elly Jones was next with eight points, five assists and two steals, while Courtney Ortgiesen, Haidyn Zimmerly and Lexi Ketchum tallied four points apiece. Olivia Miller converted a rebound basket for her two points.

Amboy hosted a quality Newark squad on Feb. 5 and sent the Lady Norsemen home with a 43-38 loss. The contest was hard-fought and went back and forth all game long.

Three players scored in double figures for the Lady Clippers. Dinges had another double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while she also led with four assists and five steals. 

Ortgiesen sank two big free throws in the fourth quarter and finished with 11 points and five caroms. Jones also tallied 11 points and added five rebounds and four steals, while Ketchum had four points and eight rebounds and Larson collected six boards.
