DIXON – Kelly Leigh Morrissey Payne, 41, of Dixon, passed away, Friday Nov. 22, 2024, at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon.

Morrissey was born January 7, 1983, the daughter of Thomas and Sandra (Apple) Morrissey, she was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend.
Kelly grew up and resided in Dixon and was a graduate of Newman Central Catholic High School.

An avid sports fan, whether it was playing or watching sports, you could often find her cheering on the Cubs and Bears. Kelly was a devoted mother who loved her kids fiercely. She found great joy in her children’s activities, had a passion for art, spending time with family, and loved to binge watch old DVDs and Netflix.

Kelly was known for her nurturing and caring personality, she spent much of her life taking care of others, working in childcare and home healthcare. Kelly was proud of her recent accomplishment, earning her CNA certification, her most recent calling was working as a Direct Service Personnel for LSSI.  

Morrissey was preceded in death by her father Thomas Morrissey, stepfather Dennis Donna, grandparents Thomas Morrissey, June and John Partington, and Donna and Joe Apple, her Aunt Nancy Karceski and Uncle Robert “Bobby” Apple.

Kelly is survived by her four beautiful children, Peyton Payne, Brynleigh Payne, Thomas Payne and Paisley Payne, her mother Sandra Morrissey, sister Kimberly (Anthony) Brick of Palm Desert, CA, the father of her children Scott Payne, aunts and uncles Sharon (Buck) Kelly, Brad (Ann) Apple, Denise (John) Roop, Tim (Krista) Morrissey and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
