AMBOY – John H. Leffelman, 93, of Amboy, passed away Sunday, May 25 at Franklin Grove Living and Rehab.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 30 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Amboy. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 29 at the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy.
Memorial donations can be made to Teen Turf in Amboy and the St. Patrick Catholic Church local food bank. Arrangements by the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Condolences can be left at www.thejonesfh.com.
Leffelman was born on Nov. 26, 1931 in Amboy, the son of Walter and Esther (Burkardt) Leffelman.
He worked at W.G. Leffelman and Sons from when he was a young boy until his retirement in 2005, where he could be found behind the parts counter with his encyclopedic memory of inventory, part numbers and customers. Leffelman could also remember when where and to whom they made deliveries. His enjoyment of visiting with customers was not limited to being at work.
Leffelman was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy, where he married Mary Kay Hodge on Sept. 14, 1968.
John is preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Eva Leffelman, brothers Michael Leffelman and Sylvan (Virginia) Leffelman. He was also preceded in death by his stepbrother Jim Blackburn and stepsister Geraldine Heckman.
John is survived by his wife Mary, two children John C. Leffelman of Amboy, and Julie (Duffy Tarantino) Leffelman of Las Vegas, Nev.
