AMBOY — Janice A Schusler, 82, of Amboy, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2020 at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her family, following a long illness.
She was born Nov. 21, 1937 in Aurora, the daughter of Alfred and Louise (Gardner) Schusler. Janice worked as a waitress at Pheasant Run Resort, Saint Charles, The Viking Inn, Winfield, Allison’s restaurant, Batavia and Dicks Vending along with Waubansee Community College.
Janice enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, bingo and caring for the neighborhood animals.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Louise Schusler; one sister, Allene Schick; three brothers, Keith, Jerry and Fredrick "Fritzi" Schusler.
She is survived by children, Kevin Kaelin, of Amboy, Keith (Linda) Kaelin, of Sandwich, Jerilyn Kaelin, of Amboy, Jodee Armbrust, of Mendota, and Scot Armbrust of San Antonio, Texas; 12 grandchildren, Rick (Kelly) Kaelin, Luke Kaelin, Jason Kaelin, Ryan Kaelin, Dan Todd, Brandy Rodriguez, Jameson Kaelin, Jenna (Chuck) Austin, Kyle Armbrust, Jared Kaelin, Tim Patlin, Julia Johnson; and five great-grandchildren Evelyn, Carter, Sarah, Anna, and Liara.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at St Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy. Burial will follow at River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. A memorial has been established to Serenity Hospice.
