AMBOY – James Noah Blanton, 83, of Amboy, passed away on November 2, 2024 at KSB Hospital in Dixon.

Cremation rites have been accorded with services to be planned at a later date. Arrangements by the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Condolences can be left at www.thejonesfh.com.

Blanton was born on July 15, 1941 in Louisville, KY, the son of Noah and Anna Blanton. James married Marilyn Malbey on August 14, 1962 in Rockford.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Marilyn Blanton Maltbey in 2001, brothers William Blanton, Ronnie Blanton, great-grandson Nathan, and son-in-law Pete Howe.

Blanton is survived by his daughters Cathy Howe, Patty Blanton, son Steven James Blanton, four sisters, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild due in 2025,and Marm, his dog.
