AMBOY – Depot Days is upon us this weekend.
With the yearly carnival, comes the yearly Miss Amboy pageant.
This year there are six girls who are vying for the title of Miss Amboy. Let’s meet the three final contestants this week as we met three Miss Amboy hopefuls in the August 14 edition of The Amboy News.

Favorite summer activity? I went to Myrtle Beach
Why did you join the pageant? It’s definitely different for me because I’m not a good public speaker. But, I wanted to try it out and try to be a better speaker. My stepmother, Danielle, talked me into it. I’m excited and nervous at the same time.
Emily Sachs
Year in school: Senior
Favorite subject: Criminal Justice at Whiteside
Fav. summer activity? Vistited Uni. Tennesee Knoxville
Why did you join the pageant? I was in the pageant last year. I wanted to try again to prove to myself and others that I can put myself out there and not be a loner like I used to be. I used to be a really quiet person. I’m coming out of my shell and trying to be the best person I can be.
Brooklyn Strub
Year in school: Senior
Favorite subject: English
Fav. summer activity? Volunteering at Kiddie Clippers
Why did you join the pageant? I’m back because I had a lot of fun last year. I enjoyed being with all of the other girls. I also enjoyed working with the other girls to think of the questions and getting to know them. I don’t really care if I win or lose. I’m just having fun.
