SUBLETTE – Floyd D. Wilson, 77, of Sublette, passed away on Saturday Nov. 30, 2024 at OSF St. Paul Medical Center in Mendota.

Visitation was held Tuesday Dec. 3, 2024 with a praying of the rosary at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Hall in Sublette. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday Dec. 4, 2024 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Sublette. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Sublette. Memorial donations in Floyd’s memory can be made to the Sublette Fire Dept. Arrangements by the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Condolences can be left at www.thejonesfh.com.

Wilson was born on Feb. 10, 1947 in Palatine, the son of Melvin and Verna (Freadhoff) Wilson. Floyd had been a barber and worked at Raynor Garage Doors in Dixon for 30 years prior to his retirement.

He married Theresa McCoy on Feb. 25, 1967 at St. Mary’s Church in Walton.

Floyd is preceded in death by his parents, son Brandon Wilson, and sister Shirley Baker. He is survived by his wife Theresa, children Brian (Sheryl) Wilson of Sublette, Brenda (Michael) Vaessen of Sublette, Barbara (Jeff) Folkers of Morrison, Brett (Becky) Wilson of Effingham, nine grandchildren Danielle (Sean) Scully, Nick (Kelsey) Wilson, Rebecca (Kevin) Bontz, Rachel (Richard) Zimmerman, Renee Vaessen, Margaret Vaessen, Brady Wilson, Miley Wilson, Cooper Wilson, and 11 great-grandchildren. Floyd is also survived by his siblings Marian Haas of Carmi, Rogene Hackbarth of The Villages, FL, Howard (Rita) Wilson of Mineral Point, WI, and Leslie Wilson of Chino, CA.
