DIXON — Esther Marie Lachat, 80 formerly of Bemidji, Minn., and lately of Dixon, passed away on March 19, 2022.

She was born on Feb. 23, 1942 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph and Leona M. (Klein) Lachat.

Esther is preceded in death by her parents, significant other Andrew Janssen, and their daughter, Andrea Janssen.

She is survived by her grandson, John; her siblings, Eugene Lachat, of Ozark, Ark., Francis (Dean Ann) Lachat, of Amboy, Eileen Helfrich, of Dodge City, Kansas, Nora Woolley, of Braselton Ga., Jerome Lachat, of Braselton, Ga., Therese (Chester) Smith, of Franklin Grove, David (JoAnn) Lachat, of Olympia, Wash., Joseph (Pat) Lachat, of Franklin Gove, Michele (Larry) Houghtby, of Waterman, Christina (David) Shaw, of Amboy; her aunt, Darlene Klein, of Metamora, and uncle Norbert (Rose) Lachat, of Russia, Ohio.

Esther is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with many great nieces and nephews.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Funeral services will be on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 11 a.m., at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to mass on March 24, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy. A memorial has been established to the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy.
