AMBOY – Earl A. Kessel, 66, of Amboy, passed away on Wednesday Feb. 12, 2025 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Cremation rites have been accorded with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. A memorial has been established to the family. Arrangements by the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Condolences can be left at www.thejonesfh.com.
Kessel was born Oct. 10, 1958 in Amboy; the son of Donald and Vera Joan (Cook) Kessel. Earl worked for Consolidated Grain and Barge for 21 years. Earl married Vicki Huyett July 28, 1984 at Shaw Station.
Earl A. Kessell is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Vicki, children Corey Kessel of Amboy, Tiffiany (Dominic) Carrico of Princeton, Ashley (Bryan) Busche of Manchester TN, five grandchildren, Chase Stewart, Oliver Carrico, Sawyer Carrico, Emerson Busche, Adalyn Busche, and one brother Don (Julie) Kessel of Sublette.
He was a proud father and "Papa" who was determined to defy the odds despite the challenges that laid ahead of him. He lived a rich life well spent with family, fishing, welding, and tinkering in the garage. He was a caring neighbor and social being who never met a stranger.
