SENECA – The Amboy cross country teams will participate in the Seneca Class 1A Regional to be held Saturday, Oct. 26 at Seneca Ag Farm, 2667 E. 28th Road, Marseilles. The girls’ race starts at 9 a.m. and the boys will compete at 10 a.m.
Other schools in the regional include Dwight [Coop], Genoa (G.-Kingston), Granville (Putnam County), Henry (H.-Senachwine) [Coop], Hinckley (H.-Big Rock), Manlius (Bureau Valley), Mendota, Minonk (Fieldcrest), Ottawa (Marquette), Peru (St. Bede), Princeton, Princeville, Seneca [Coop], Somonauk [Coop], Spring Valley (Hall) and Washburn (Lowpoint-W.) [Coop]
The first seven placing teams and the first five runners who are not members of the advancing teams in each regional will advance to sectional competition. In addition, in the event the 6th, 7th or 8th place overall individual finisher in the regional is not on a qualifying team, such 6th, 7th or 8th place overall finisher in the individual race shall advance from the regional to the sectional meet.
Rock Island Alleman will be the host school for the sectional to be held on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Saukie Golf Course, 3101 38th St., Rock Island. The girls will race at 10 a.m. followed by the boys at 11 a.m.
