AMBOY — Connie R. Bonnell, 70, of Amboy passed away on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.

She was born on Dec. 11, 1951 in Dixon, the daughter of Raymond and Rose (Dale) Shoemaker. Connie had a work ethic like no other being a dedicated employee of Raynor Garage Door for the past 38 years. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy. Connie loved going for walks, exercise classes, line dancing, and enjoyed spending weekends at her sister in law Lucy's pool. In her youth she liked to play football with the kids over at Deadmond's yard and loved to roller skate.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel "Peach" Bonnell, of Amboy; sons, Scott Bonnell, of Dixon, and Brett Bonnell, of Rochelle; and sister, Barb (Jim) Westra, of Sterling. Connie is also survived by brother in laws, Joel (Karen) Bonnell, of Dixon, Jerry Bonnell, of Amboy; sister in laws, Rosann (Bill) Good, of Pearland, Texas, Bonnie (John) Carson, of Ashton, Janelle (Jim) Clark, of Maricopa, Ariz., Jill Streeter, of Spring Valley, Lucy (Darin) Miller, of Byron, Pam Bonnell, of Dixon, Lynn Bonnell, of Franklin Grove; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother in laws, John Bonnell, Thomas Bonnell, Marty Bonnell, Steven Bonnell, Rollie Streeter, and Myrl Johnson; and sister in laws, Peggy Johnson, Linda Chavera, and Vicki Bonnell.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy. Burial of cremains will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Maytown. Visitation will be from 9 – 10:45 a.m., on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Teen Turf in Amboy and the Amboy Fire Department.
