STERLING – Rhonda Houzenga, a Certified Nursing Assistant in the 3rd Floor Medical Unit, was recently recognized as a recipient of the Sunshine Award for extraordinary service.
The Sunshine Award was created to honor and recognize outstanding service and compassionate care by those in non-nursing roles, such as CNAs, CMTs or MAs.
“I would like to acknowledge the outstanding job Rhonda has done today. She is training another CNA and has been a shining example of how to be a caring, hardworking CNA. She is not only training one CNA, but she is taking the time to explain important safety concerns to the other CNA on the unit as well. I really appreciate how she takes her time with her trainee. Rhonda is very thorough when it comes to charting, keeping her rooms clean, and making sure the safety of the patient is first. I enjoy working with Rhonda and her patients truly appreciate her.
The patient in room 309 would also like to submit her for this award as well. He said the following about Rhonda...’She is my favorite CNA! She is so kind and hardworking. She always makes sure all my needs are met!’”
