Weather has shuffled the baseball schedule in March, but the Amboy Clippers were able to play two games last week as they were on the road against Pecatonica on Tuesday, March 19 and in Oregon on Thursday, March 21.
Amboy scored five runs in the first inning against Pecatonica, but the home team was able to score six runs in the third inning, one in the fifth, and one in the sixth while the Clippers only scored on more in seventh for an 8-6 loss.
Senior Landon Whelchel, juniors Quinn Leffelman, Dillon Merriman, Carson Barlow, Eddie Jones, and sophomore Rylan McNinch scored the six runs for Amboy.
Two days later, Amboy fell short, 12-1, against non-conference foe, Oregon.
Senior Landon Montavon scored the lone run for the Clippers in the fourth inning.
