FORRESTON – The Amboy baseball has been hitting and pitching well as it built a 6-1 record heading into a showdown against Northwest Upstate Illini Conference crossover foe Forreston on Thursday, April 3.
The Cardinals proved to be a difficult feat to accomplish early in the season as the Clippers fell 10-0.
Seniors Carson Barlow and Quinn Leffelman and freshman Landon Carter each collected one hit for Amboy.
Junior Rylan McNinch took the loss on the mound behind four hits and five runs (one earned) allowed, three strikeouts, and four walks in three innings.
The double header against the Marquette Academy baseball team on Saturday, April 5 in Ottawa was canceled due to weather.
