AMBOY – The Amboy baseball team were ready for two games against Northwest Upstate Illini Conference foe Milledgeville as they beat them 11-3 on Tuesday, May 6 at Milledgeville and 9-1 on Thursday, May 8.

Baseball: Amboy sluggers win two against Milledgeville, fall to Newman

AMBOYThe Amboy baseball team were ready for two games against Northwest Upstate Illini Conference foe Milledgeville as they beat them 11-3 on Tuesday, May 6 at Milledgeville and 9-1 on Thursday, May 8.

Newman got the best of Amboy, 8-0, on Monday, May 12.

In the first game against the Missiles, senior Brody Christoffersen gave up three hits and one run and had seven strike outs and four walks in five innings.

The Clippers tallied nine hits as senior Eddie Jones and junior Rylan McNinch collected two hits apiece.

Seniors Carson Barlow and Quinn Leffelman each drove in three runs in the second game against the Missiles, while senior Caleb Shugars tallied two hits and freshman Landon Carter was walked twice.

Barlow started on the mound allowing two hits and one run while walking two in seven innings.

Against Newman, senior Eddie Jones was the starting pitcher and allowed two hits and three runs (two earned) while striking out one and walking five in four innings.
Senior Dillon Merriman led the Clipper offense going 2-for-2 at the plate.
