Amboy High School Report 1-29-25

Posted

This week, students have been signing up for classes for next year.

On top of the three dual-enrollment courses we already teach at Amboy High School, we are looking to add a fourth, Biology 105.

These courses are a great opportunity for students to get college credit without having to go to campus and it is a lot cheaper than attending on campus. We will also be weighing the grade points of the more rigorous classes, like physics, calculus, AP courses, dual enrollment courses, and health science classes through Whiteside Area Career Center.

Students in the class, Intro to Agriculture, have been learning about the cow’s stomach. Mrs. Lexi Hilliker walked the students through a project using potato straws, baggies, pop rocks, and water to allow the students to see the progress of food through a cow’s stomach. The students were able to see how saliva adds to the digestion process and how the stomachs work together to help cows get the nutrients they need.
