AMBOY — Alice J. Austin, 73, of Amboy, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021 at her home. She was born on Feb. 20, 1948 in Amboy the daughter of Weldon "Dutch" and Dorothy (Stouffer) Conderman.

Alice worked at Admiral Corporation, as a Telephone Operator at Illini State Telephone Company, and as a Lunch Room Aid for the Amboy School District for 30 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Amboy Flamettes.

Alice married Charles Austin of July 30, 1966 at the Amboy Methodist Church in Amboy.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Andy Conderman.

Alice is survived by her husband, Charles; children, Charles (Glenda) Austin II, of Amboy and Amy Austin, of Londell, Mo.; two grandchildren, Charles (Jenna) Austin III, of Franklin Grove and Brian (Kathryn) Austin, of Minnesota; one great-granddaughter, Sophia Austin; and one sister-in-law, Vicki Conderman, of Amboy.

Cremation rites have been accorded with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Burial of cremains will also be at a later date at Prairie Repose Cemetery in Amboy.
