AMBOY — The Young Seekers 4-H Cloverbuds will begin meeting at 6:30 p.m., on Jan. 10, at the Lee County Farm Bureau Building, 37 S. East Ave., Amboy. The group will meet the second Wednesday of each month through June.
Cloverbuds is a pre-4-H program, open to children ages five to seven as of Sept. 1 of the current 4-H year (2017). During meetings cloverbuds will learn about 4-H, participate in discussion and activities centered on a specific topic, and participate in community service efforts. As a group, Cloverbuds will create one display to show at the 2018 Lee Co. 4-H Fair & Jr. Show, July 26-29.
This session the Young Seekers 4-H Cloverbuds will learn more about farms from around the United States by following the AgMazing Adventures of Flat Aggie. Activities will include STEM-based projects, exploration of 4-H, local field trips and community service projects. Other local 4-H Clubs have Cloverbud groups as well. The Maytown Comets group meets the third Thursday of the month, 6:30 p.m. at Maytown Hall. Leader is Trese McNinch. The Sub-Let Indians group meets the third Thursday of every other month, 5:30 p.m. at the Ellice Dinges Center. Leader is Deb Althaus.
