AMBOY – Amboy’s Donald Wittenauer was presented with the Lodge Builder Award for the Illinois Central Lodge #178 for 2017. Current Lodge Worshipful Master Chuck Jeanblanc, pictured left, said that even though the year on the plaque says 2017, Wittenauer, pictured center, has been taking care of the building and the lodge since 1961. Wittenauer has been the Lodge’s Worshipful Master for 14 or 15 years, which is a record for the Lodge. Also pictured with Wittenauer and Jeanblanc is the Lodge’s previous Worshipful Master Hank Gerdes. Gerdes said Masonic Lodge takes good men and makes them better. He added that a brother can go anywhere in the world and be instantly bonded with another brother.
