AMBOY — William Marion Machen, 85, of Amboy died peacefully Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at his home.
He was born Feb. 13, 1933, in Amboy, the son of Louis and Lillian (Barnes) Machen.
He worked many jobs during his lifetime retiring from Sauk Valley Community College after 26 years in 1996.
He married Mary Francis Hillison on June 28, 1958 in Amboy. She preceded him in death on Dec. 22, 2015.
He is survived by one daughter, Deborah (Art) Albee and one son, William T. (Rose Wessels) Machen; two grandchildren, Amanda (Nate) Mills and Jennifer (Eric) Dries; four great-grandchildren; one brother, James (Sharon) Machen; one sister in law, Carol Machen; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Robert Machen.
Funeral services will be held at noon, on Saturday June 23, 2018, at the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy with Pastor James Machen officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Repose Cemetery in Amboy. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to the time of service on Saturday from in the funeral home. A memorial has been established. Condolences may be sent online at www.thejonesfh.com.
