AMBOY — William K. Laemmel, 83, of Amboy, died Sunday, July 5, 2020 at KSB Hospital in Dixon.
He was born Nov. 30, 1936, in Amboy the son of Walter and Elizabeth Marie (Harrison) Laemmel. He had owned and operated with his wife the Long Branch Saloon in Amboy from 1970 to 1984.
He was a veteran of the Army.
William married Barbara Beale Gibson July 29, 1962 in Compton. She preceded him in death July 2, 2016. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Katherine Woodrow and Doris Butler, and two brothers, Walter and James Laemmel.
He is survived by one son, William “Bill” Laemmel, of Tucson, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Kirsty, William, and Brittney; three step sons, John Gibson of Orlando, Fla., Ron Gibson, of Dixon and Kevin Gibson, of Lee Center.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Burial of cremains will be at a later date in Precinct Cemetery in Earlville.
Arrangements by the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy.
