FRANKLIN GROVE — William C. "Bill" Schaneberg, 93, of Franklin Grove, died on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Pinecrest Manor in Mt. Morris.

He was born on Oct. 18, 1929, in Rochelle the son of Clyde and Rose (Hinchey) Schaneberg. Bill was a life long farmer and worked for Del Monte in Rochelle, Pfoutz Electric, Heating, and Cooling, Owned and Operated Little City Garbage in Franklin Grove, and Fantasy Flavors in Amboy prior to his retirement.

He married Laura "Opal" Glenn on May 12, 1951 in Rochelle.

She preceded him in death on Feb. 2, 2019. Bill is also preceded in death by his parents; son Tony Schaneberg; five sisters; and four brothers.

He is survived by his children, Calvin Schaneberg, Phil (Judy) Schaneberg; four grandchildren, Brandon (Brittany) Schaneberg, Devan Duncan, Chrissy (Mark) Smardo, and William "Willy" (Heather Settles) Schaneberg; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services was held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 11 a.m., at the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Burial followed at Prairie Repose Cemetery in Amboy.
