Walnut 5K to benefit ALS Research

WALNUT – The Walnut 5K Run/Walk for ALS Research (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) will be Saturday, July 1. The run/walk starts at 8 a.m. in front of the Bureau Valley North Junior High.

The entry fee is $15 if received by June 19 and $20 after that date and on race day. T-shirts are guaranteed to all who register by June 19. Race day registration is from 6:45-7:45 a.m. at the tent located south of the school.

Trophies will be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place overall male and female and medals will be awarded to the top three runners in each of the 15 age groups (male and female).

The race features gun-to-bib chip timing, a professional road race scoring team and an accurately measured course. This is a Rock River Road Runners Circuit event and gets approximately 400 runners.
