Sublette to host St. Ambrose Happy Hour

SUBLETTE — On Thursday, June 8, the Village of Sublette will be invaded by bees – St. Ambrose University Bees.
Each year during June St. Ambrose alumni and friends gather in large cities including Davenport, Des Moines and Clinton, Iowa, as well as Chicago, Rockford, Peoria and Scottsdale, Ariz., for a Bee Happy Hour. For the past two years, Sublette has been included as a location for the “Fighting Bees” to swarm.
St. Ambrose is the patron of bee keepers.
This year’s gathering will be held on June 8, at LaFiesta Restaurant in downtown Sublette from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. There will be light snacks and an open bar and a chance for the Fighting Bees to catch up, tell stories and network with people who have an interest in St. Ambrose.
The event is being hosted by Linda Grady, Penn Farringer, Madison Althaus and Don Dinges.
All former students, current students and friends of St. Ambrose are invited to attend. Last year, the Bee Happy Hour was attended by over 40 Bees, and it is hoped this year’s attendance will be even bigger.
St. Ambrose University is located in Davenport, Iowa, and many students from this area attend the school.
