DIXON — Steven Eugene McWethy, 63, of Dixon, died Sunday, July 2, 2017, at his home. He co-owned and operated McWethy Orchard in Dixon and worked as a quality control engineer for William Charles Construction in Loves Park.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m., until time of memorial services at 11 a.m., on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dixon, with the Rev. Joseph O’Donnell, officiating.
Steven was born November 18, 1953, in Dixon, the son of Robert W. and Dorothy L. (Tourtillott) McWethy. He married Martha Elaine Preston on June 25, 1983. Steven was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dixon and a life-time member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. Steven loved spending time with his family and enjoyed the great outdoors. He will be known as “Mr. Fix It” to many; would do anything for anyone, and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Martha McWethy, of Dixon; three daughters, Katelyn E. McWethy, of Dixon, Courtney (Joshua Blackketter) McWethy, of Chicago, Mary (Steven Humphrey, Jr.) McWethy, of Dixon; one son, Kyle (Eleanor) McWethy, of Dixon; two sisters, Rebecca (Patrick) Albert, of Wasilla, Ak., Susan (Gregory) Fritz, of Madison, Wis.; one brother, William (Jeanette) McWethy, of Dixon; one granddaughter, Fiona McWethy and one granddaughter on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved orchard in 2007.
A memorial has been established to the Experimental Aircraft Association.
