PERU – Amboy had its bats ringing as it coasted to an 8-2 triumph over St. Bede in varsity softball action on April 17 at Peru.
AHS did a majority of its scoring in the first inning by scoring seven of its eight runs. The other run came in the sixth. St. Bede managed just single tallies in the second and third frames.
Five Lady Clippers had two hits apiece. They included Bailee Highbarger (single, triple), Delaney Wilhelm (single, double), Shannon Lytle (single, double, one RBI), Hallie Nauman (single, double) and Haley Varga (two singles).
Bailee Highbarger was the winning pitcher, allowing seven hits, walking two and striking out 10.
