September events in Sublette

The annual Country Car Show was held at Sublette Centennial Park on Sept. 17 and had a display of some unique and interesting cars including a 1929 Pierce Arrow brought by Jack Truckenbrod. 

There was also a display of Hudson autos as the Chicago-Milwaukee Hudson Club held a meet in conjunction with the show. The show featured Kaiser-Frazer, Willys-Overland, Hudson and Nash, but many other makes were on display.

The annual Pullin’ in the Park took place on Sept. 18. This event attracted a large number of tractors and trucks for the pull. The event also included food and games for the family.

The Antique Power show was held at Mendota Hills Campground just north of Sublette on Sept. 24-25. This included a large display of old tractors and farm equipment. 

There were also vendors and demonstrations.

New hair salon to 

open in downtown Sublette

Jordan Tidmore will be opening a new hair salon in downtown Sublette very soon. The salon will be located at 103 W. Main St. in a building recently purchased by Michael Vaessen. The building has been completely remodeled and a new front has been installed. The salon will be known as Shear Elegance. Tidmore will be offering haircuts for men, women and children, perms, hair color, facials, waxing and nails. The opening date will be announced soon.
