Amboy’s Caleb Sarff placed second overall at the NUIC conference tournament played at Wolf Hollow in Lena shooting a 79, one stroke behind overall winner Alex Stover from Stockton. The Clippers began competing in their Regional meet at Spring Creek in Spring Valley on Tuesday, Oct. 3. The rest of the schools in the regional include Earlville [Coop], Erie, Granville (Putnam County), Manlius (Bureau Valley), Morrison, Newark [Coop], Peru (St. Bede), Port Byron (Riverdale), Princeton, Prophetstown, Somonauk, Spring Valley (Hall) and Sterling (Newman Central Catholic). The top three teams will advance to the Rockford (Christian Life) Sectional to be played on Monday, Oct. 9 at Elliot Golf Course in Rockford, as well as the top 10 scoring individuals who are not members of a qualifying team.
