Sauk Valley Skyhawks on a role with a 29-1 overall record

DIXON — The Skyhawks are on a roll with a record of 29-1 overall, and 6-0 in the conference. 

The Skyhawk’s return four players from last year’s team, setter Audra Goff from Rock Falls, hitter Juliana Rotella from Dixon, outside hitter Kiley Sanders from Sterling Newman, and libero Maddie Sands from Rock Falls and Iowa State transfer Michal Willman from Faith Christian.

The Skyhawk’s have added six freshmen: setter Gabby Jones comes to Sauk Valley from Amboy; outside hitter Jaelyn Fitzgerald  from Mendota; middle hitter Kierra Collins from Sterling; outside hitter Tiana Tichler and opposite hitter Addyson Kinn from Dixon and defensive specialist Hannah Adams from Geneseo. The Skyhawks are coached by Jay Howell, Hannah Wilson, and Maryssa Albert.  

The NJCAA have ranked the Sauk Valley Community College Volleyball team fourth in the nation.  

The Skyhawks have a home match against Waubonsee at 6 p.m., on Oct. 14. A schedule for the rest of the season can be found at - https://www.svcc.edu/community/athletics/volleyball/
