AMBOY — Sandra R. "Sandy" Clairmont, 79, of Amboy, died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, in her home surrounded by her family.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m., on Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Dixon.
She was born March 6, 1938, in Elgin, the daughter of Chester E. and Phyllis A. (Erdman) Fehd. Sandy was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Dixon. She enjoyed her rock and fossil collection, and collecting Native American jewelry and artifacts. She will be greatly missed by her cat, Rusty.
She married Antoine "Buck" Clairmont in Elgin on April 11, 1960.
Sandy was preceded in death by a brother in infancy.
Survivors include her husband, of Amboy; two daughters, Diana Clairmont and Sheila Clairmont, both of Amboy; three grandchildren, Brandon (Janna) Smith, Shawnee Smith, and Ronald (Noelle) Spicher; four great-grandchildre, Justice, Tristen, Fiona, and Caden; four sisters, Margaret Chapman, of Albuquerque, N.M., Diane Dare, of Prescott, Barbara (Joseph) Ryan, of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Sharon (Stephen) Breining, of Lily Lake; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial has been established.
