Ronald Lee McKinnon, 69, of Dixon, entered into eternal life, Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Iowa City VA Medical Center, Iowa City, IA. He owned and operated McKinnon’s Amoco for several years and later became a truck driver.

DIXON — Ronald Lee McKinnon, 69, of Dixon, entered into eternal life, Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Iowa City VA Medical Center, Iowa City, Iowa. He owned and operated McKinnon’s Amoco for several years and later became a truck driver.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon, followed by a 1:30 p.m. funeral service at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded.

Ronald was born July 13, 1947, in Manitowoc, Wis., the son of Harry and Joan (LaCoste) McKinnon. He served in the United States Army from 1964 until 1967. He married Frances (Schreiner) McKinnon on Nov. 8, 1969. They had three daughters together.

Ron enjoyed fishing, golfing, and playing cards with his lifelong friends that were very special to him. He was an avid movie lover and had an extensive collection of movies. He also was a huge car lover. He enjoyed laughing and cracking jokes and spending time with family and friends. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his three daughters, Wendy Ann, of Seattle, Wash., Becky Lynn, of Dixon, Mindy Sue, of Seattle, Wash.  All three are stubborn McKinnon’s like their Father.  He is also survived by one brother, Joseph, of Lewiston, Maine; a niece, Michelle, of St. Louis, Mo.; a nephew, Joe, Jr., of Lewiston, Maine; five grandchildren, Cierra, Justyn, Andre, Alexis, and Tionna; and five great-grandchildren, Maurice, Eliyana, Zaiden, Destin, and Delilah. 

He will be missed tremendously by all.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made for a memorial to be established in Ron’s name.

Arrangements are being completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon.
