DIXON — Roger D. Baker, 79, of Dixon, passed away quietly Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017, at Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital, Dixon, surrounded by his wife, Sherri, daughters, grandchildren and loved ones on the phone.
Visitation will be from 3 - 5 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon, followed by a 5 p.m., memorial service, at the funeral home. Cremations rites have been accorded.
Roger was born June 14, 1938, to Milford and Dorothy (Schoville) Baker in Livingston, Wis. He married Cheryl “Sherri” Dubs in 1983 and spent the next 41 years enjoying their family, friends, and gardening. Roger was a 1956 graduate of Sabula Community School.
He is survived by his wife, Sherri Baker, of Dixon; one son, Kevin (Andrea) Baker, of Eldridge, Iowa; three daughters, Kimberly (Jerry) Karsjen, of Ames, Iowa, Lorilei (Rachel) Baker, of Bondurant, Iowa, Dianna (Tony) Groff, of Yorkville; one brother, Glen Baker, of Colorado; 12 grandchildren; and 9½ great-grandchildren.
Roger was welcomed home in heaven by his parents; three brothers; and one sister.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
