Robert L. Bresson

COMPTON — Robert L. Bresson, 93, of Compton, passed away Jan. 26, 2023, in Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., on Jan. 31, in St. Mary's Catholic Church West Brooklyn. Rev. Randy Fronek will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary's cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time in the church.

Bob was born Nov. 25, 1929, in Compton to George and Bertha (Walter) Bresson. He graduated from Lee Center High School in 1947. Bob married the love of his life Charlotte Pierce on Feb. 20, 1954, in Rochelle.

Bob was so much more than a farmer. For many years he was a Grain Equipment Dealer for Behlen and Mayrath, often their top salesperson. Bob had a passion for flying and was an expert pilot, flight instructor, and Cessna plane dealer. In 2007 he received the Wright Brothers Master Pilot award, awarded to a pilot for having 50 years with no accidents or incidents. Bob was active in his county and community. He served on the H.F. Gehant Bank Board, the Quiet Birdmen, Mendota Elks Lodge #1212, Mendota Moose Lodge, Lee County Sheriff's Merit Board and St. Mary's Catholic Church. Bob loved to go to his boys basketball games, and he loved to dance with Charlotte.

Bob will be forever missed by his wife Charlotte, of Compton; sons, Mark (Judy) Bresson, of Compton and Jeff (Mary) Bresson, of Compton; grandson, Jake (Mariana) Bresson;

great-grandson, Nicolas; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Craig Bresson on Nov. 26, 2006,

and brother, Ray Bresson.

Pallbearers will be John Burkhart, Bill Siemer, Ray Mann, Dean Ackland, Jake Bresson, Lewis Durin and Mike Bernardin.
