NAPERVILLE — Robert “Bob” John Holt, 74, of Naperville, formerly of Dixon, died Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. He enjoyed his retirement since 2014.
Private services were held on Friday, April 21, 2017, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Naperville, with Pastor Seth Clemmer, officiating. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.
Bob was born March 3, 1943, in Dixon, the son of Robert E. and Doris (Stephenitch) Holt. He graduated from Dixon High School and attended the University of Illinois. Bob married Linda Clark on Nov. 26, 1966, in Dixon. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Naperville for 15 years and served in the United States Army National Guard. He was fond of dogs, cars, gardening and landscaping. He was a handyman and could fix almost anything.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda Holt of Naperville; two daughters, Jennifer (nee: Holt) and Chris Kolling, of Mt Morris, Stephanie (nee: Holt) and Carlos E. Teran, of Aurora; one son, Justin and Jessica (nee:Elliott) Holt, of Aurora; and four grandchildren, Ryan Kram, Alexander Holt, Natalia Teran, and Cristian Teran.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial has been established to Bethany Lutheran School and the March of Dimes.
Arrangements are being completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon.
