Pratt featured on Culver's #FarmingFridays

PRAIRIE DU SAC, WIS.— People want to know where their food comes from, and Culver’s #FarmingFridays is dedicated to satisfying this hunger for knowledge. The popular social series is part of Culver’s Thank You Farmers Project.

#FarmingFridays invites influencers from across the agricultural industry to share their stories on Culver’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat accounts. The series takes place on five Fridays spread throughout the year.

This year’s second #FarmingFridays guest was Katie Pratt. Pratt is a fourth-generation Illinois family farmer and blogger who participates in agricultural literacy programs to teach kids about farming.

Pratt also works as an agricultural literacy coordinator for the Illinois Ag in the Classroom program. In this position, Pratt spends her days in schools talking to students and teachers about food and farming.

“I watch students connect their dinner plates with a farm gate. Seeing that figurative light bulb flash is so exciting,” explained Pratt. “The more we know about how and why food, fuel and fiber are grown, the more we know about the world around us and the choices we have.”

When she’s not busy farming or promoting agriculture, Pratt enjoys gardening and writing. Pratt’s favorite Culver’s menu item: Fresh Frozen Custard, of course.

“Our guests love learning more about the agricultural industry and where their food comes from,” said Jessie Kreke, senior marketing manager at Culver’s. “Culver’s is proud to provide an avenue for those in the agricultural industry to share their stories through #FarmingFridays.”

Culver’s Thank You Farmers Project works to ensure that we continue to have enough food to feed our country’s growing population by supporting agricultural education programs that teach smart farming. To date, the Thank You Farmers Project has raised nearly $2 million in support of the National FFA Organization and Foundation, local FFA chapters and a variety of local agricultural organizations.
