Rock River Hospice and Home is a partner in the “We Honor Veterans” program in conjunction with the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) and the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. “We Honor Veterans” is designed to assist hospices in meeting and understanding the needs of veterans who are receiving hospice care. The goal is to comfort and honor patients with a history of military service and experience. Veteran volunteers are an excellent resource to our Veteran patients and offer respectful inquiry, compassionate listening, and grateful acknowledgement of their experiences and service to their country. A recent pinning was conducted by our Veteran volunteer, Jason Wittenauer for Clifton Judd, in honor of his service in the United States Army.
