AMBOY — Patricia A. Brady, 89, of Amboy and formerly of Dixon, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at Maple Crossing in Amboy. 

She was born April 16, 1928, in Amboy, the daughter of Earl James and Margaret (Klise) Antoine. She attended Illinois State University, Sauk Valley Community College, Rockford University, the University of San Francisco, and Loyola University in Chicago, where she received her Master’s Degree. She was Director of Religious Education and taught at St. Mary's in Sterling, and was Director of Religious Education at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy, St. Rita of Cascia Catholic Church in Aurora, St. Anne Catholic Church in Barrington, Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sterling, Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Oak Brook Terrace, and St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Western Springs. In retirement, she taught English at Sauk Valley Community College.

She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy, St. Patrick's Women's Club, Amnesty International, Bread for the World and had also been a Girl Scout Leader.

Pat especially loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and teaching.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Patrick Joseph Brady and sister, Kay McInerney.

Pat is survived by her son, Dennis Michael (Cheryl) Brady, of Dixon; daughter, Mary Margaret "Molly" (Richard) Haseman, of Dixon; five grandchildren, Christina (Gail) Barnickel, James (Andrea) Bulfer, Melissa (Brad) Merkel, Shane (Breanne) Brady and Joshua (Mattie Godfrey) Brady; great-grandchildren, Walter Barnickel, Marie Barnickel, Summer Bulfer, Zoey Bulfer, Carson Merkel, Bristol Bulfer, Gentry Merkel, Gavin Merkel, Chance Brady, and Kip Brady; special niece, Jeannine (Pat) Reis; and special friends, Susan Ferris, Elaine Wolf and Colleen Koch.

Memorial Mass will be at noon, on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018 at St Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy.  Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m., on Friday at the church. A memorial has been established to Pankhurst Memorial Library in Amboy.
