AMBOY – Nancy Carol Hartz, 67, of Amboy died May 19, 2018 after a short illness.
Miss Hartz, beloved sister, aunt, teacher and friend, was born Sept. 26, 1950, in Princeton, to Dale and Lois (Meikle) Hartz.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Mary Gardner and brother, Ronald Hartz. She is survived by sister, Lela Kraber, of Dixon, brother Jerry (Linda) Hartz, of Dixon and sister in law, Esther Hartz, of Mt. Dora, Fla. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Nancy graduated from Franklin Center High School, Eureka College and Rockford College. She taught school for 33 years in Paw Paw, retiring in 2005. She also taught Sunday school at the United Methodist Church in Amboy and Franklin Grove for 51 years. Nancy loved her family, her students, everybody's kids, her dog and living on the farm. She was an avid Chicago White Sox fan, Hearts card player and a devoted friend of her church.
Never underestimate the power of your actions. With one small gesture Nancy changed people's lives. God puts us all in each other's lives to impact one another in some way. Nancy was humble, strong and kind. She left a legacy of love.
There will be no visitation or funeral services. Memorials may be given to the Franklin Grove United Methodist Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
