AMBOY — The Amboy Depot Days Little Miss/Mister and Junior Miss pageants had a total of 22 participants this year. All of our Little Miss/Little Mister and Junior Miss interviews were done in a private setting on Tuesday evening at the Amboy Community Building. The little miss/mister age range was 5-7 years old and junior miss was 9-11. Participants were asked a series of age appropriate questions, and their scores were tallied up that night and the winners were determined.
Crown winners were: Little Miss Amboy: Bella Daly, sponsored by Sterling Motors.

Little Mister Amboy: Landen Jackson, sponsored by Bonnells General Store.

Junior Miss Amboy: Kaylee Scanland, sponsored by Long Branch Saloon
The four Miss Amboy Contestants also had round one of interviews on Tuesday night, half of their scoring is actually done on Tuesday. The other half of their scoring is done Thursday evening at the pageant

Judges for the pageant were Brandon Miller-Guss from Bettondorf, Iowa, Angela Shippert from Dixon and Cassie Ellis from Franklin Grove. And they had no easy task this year.
The four contestants this year were:
Allana Gittleson, escorted by John Bonnell Sr. and sponsored by Gittleson Farms.
Chloe Schamberger, escorted by Randy Schamberger and sponsored by Leprechauns,
First runner up is Molly Ackert, escorted by Tom Ackert and sponsored by Woodhaven Lakes
Miss Amboy 2017, Abril Vazquez-Tapia, escorted by Guillermo Vazquez and sponsored by Teen Turf
Miss Amboy 2017 duties for next year will evolve into being more "present with our region."
Retiring queen, Rayven Wehling, did an excellent job this past year by going above and beyond her duties by attending things that weren't required of her, such as visiting royalty in other communities, and nearby events like the Sublette Toy/Tractor show.
Pageant director is Emily Leffelman Zimmerman, 2002 Miss Amboy.
