AMBOY — The Amboy American Legion won't be hosting an official Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 25. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Amboy American Legion Rifle Squad will post the colors and fire a volley at 10 a.m. in Veterans Park in Amboy on Memorial Day. Volley fire, as a military tactic, is in its simplest form the concept of having soldiers shoot in turns. In practice, it often consists of having a line of soldiers all fire their weapons simultaneously at the enemy forces on command.
The public is allowed to attend the presentation, but is asked to exercise social distancing and follow the current health guidelines.
Services in Sublette and Woodhaven Lakes have been canceled.
