AMBOY — Marye L. Hegert, 98, of Amboy, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018 at Maple Crossing of Amboy.
She was born April 22, 1920, in Freeport the daughter of Ludwig and Euphamia (Daval) Hegert. Marye worked at the Amboy Rug Mill, the Federal Land Bank and then at Ortgiesen Insurance prior to her retirement. She had been a member of the Pankhurst Memorial Library Board for over 40 years, and was a member of Shady Oaks Country Club. She also volunteered at Granny Rose Animal Shelter.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Marye is survived by four second cousins, Mark Rose, of Ohio, Julie Rose, of Georgia and Steve Rose and Chris Rose, both of Virginia; and her care giver Sue Jones, of Amboy.
At Marye's request cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services. A memorial has been established to St Jude Children Hospital. Arrangements by the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Condolences may be sent online at www.thejonesfh.com.
