DIXON — Mary Helen McCartney, 94, of Dixon, passed away, Monday, May 22, 2017, at Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital, Dixon. She worked at Borg Warner, in Dixon, prior to her retirement in 1986.

DIXON — Mary Helen McCartney, 94, of Dixon, passed away, Monday, May 22, 2017, at Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital, Dixon. She worked at Borg Warner, in Dixon, prior to her retirement in 1986.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m., until time of funeral services at 11 a.m., on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Dixon, with the Rev. David Schweepe, officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.
Mary was born on Sept. 9, 1922, in Johnstown, Penn., the daughter of John and Mary (Yakabison) Ludrowsky. She married Dale McCartney on Nov. 10, 1949, in Castalia, Ohio. He preceded her in death Sept. 17, 2006. Mary was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dixon. During World War II, Mary worked at Camp Perry Proving Grounds in Ohio. She also was the oldest and last surviving sibling of 11 children. Mary will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Ruth (Rich) Senn; her son, Ronald J. (Judy) McCartney; five grandchildren, Robert Senn, Ronnie D. McCartney, Kiel McCartney, Susan (Matt) Carlson and Kelly McCartney; five great-grandchildren, Ashley, Jackson, Lucas, Elizabeth and Kalista; and step children, the late Duane McCartney and the late Judy Bonderer and their families.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Donald McCartney; one grandson, Andrew McCartney; six sisters, Margie Adams, Liz Walland, Ann Rusinkovich, Agnes Burcher, Lucille Bell and Lilliam Ludrowsky; and four brothers, Frank, Cliff, John and Ed Ludrowsky.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Mary’s friends and neighbors and especially to the doctors and nurses at the KSB Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit and Dixon Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, for all the kindness and care that she received.
A memorial has been established to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
