AMBOY — Marguerite A. Leffelman, 87, of Amboy, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, at Maple Crossing of Amboy.
She was born March 4, 1931, in Chicago, the daughter of Rudolph and Margaret (Foltyniewicz) Shappa. Marguerite married Kenneth Leffelman at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Maytown on April 17, 1948. He preceded her in death Dec. 7, 1994.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Harold Shappa; one granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren.
Marguerite had farmed all of her life with her husband in the Maytown area. She was also a school bus driver for Amboy School District for 25 years and worked many years at the Long Branch Saloon prior to her retirement.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Maytown, Lee County Pork Producers, and the Cattleman's Association.
Suvrivors include her children, Edwardene (Douglas) Grobe, of Thomson, Ed (Susan) Leffelman, of Amboy, Gary Leffelman, of Jacksonville, Fla., Barb Moore, and Terry (Nancy) Leffelman, both of Amboy; seven grandchildren, James (Toy) Grobe, Travis (Angie) Grobe, Emily (Harry) Blomstrand, Benjamin (Emily) Leffelman, Jenna (Brad) Spiniolas, Nathan (Whitney Kessel) Moore an Victoria (Chris) Boyle; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 p.m., on Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, at Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Private burial of cremains will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in Maytown.
A memorial has been established.
