AMBOY — Lee E. Howell, 74 of Amboy, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019 surrounded by his family at the home of his son. 

He was born Aug. 20, 1945, in Amboy, the son of Charles and Pauline (Williams) Howell.

Lee had worked at Amboy Sterilpak, Deans Foods and Kreider Services both in Dixon. He was a veteran of the Army and was a member of the American Legion and VFW.

Lee loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed horse racing and casinos.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Eli Christoffersen, brother,s Charles Howell Jr., Mark Howell Sr., Mike Howell, and sister, Effie Lambert.

Lee is survived by his children, Paul (Tina) Howell and Jolinda (Luke) Christoffersen, both of Amboy, step-daughters Missy (Jim) Gallentine, of Sterling and Tammy (Travis) Coil, of Dixon; grandchildren, Trevor (Sara) Howell, Reece (Brandice) Howell, Walker (Haleigh) Howell, Abigail, Callan, and Gunner Christoffersen, Chase and Chelsea Glenn, Chloe Coil and Larissa Gallardo; and one great-granddaughter Lyla Mae Howell. He is also survived by one sister, Isabelle Ptak, of Amboy.

Lee asked that his body be donated to medical study. 

A celebrations of life will be held from 4 – 6 p.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, at the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy.

A memorial has been established to Rock River Hospice.
