LEE COUNTY — Lee County voters selected red down the ticket on Tuesday in the General Election.

These results listed are unofficial and official winners will be declared during certification.

According to the Lee County Clerk election website, a total of 16,457 ballots were cast in the General Election, out of 22,291 voters.

For the office of President, Lee County voters selected Donald Trump to continue to represent them. Trump easily defeated Biden, 58.61 percent to 38.95 percent. The country is still waiting for states to tally all of the votes before a winner of the Presidential race is called.

Lee County voted for Republican Mark C. Curran, Jr. over incumbent Richard J. Durbin, 56.72 percent to 39.76 percent. While the entire state of Illinois voted in favor of Durbin, 52.3 percent to 40.9 percent for Curran.

In the race for 16th Congressional District, Lee County voted to keep Republican Adam Kinzinger representing them. Kinzinger received 66.12 percent of the vote, while opponent Dani Brzozowski received 33.82 percent of the vote. In the District, Kinzinger received 65.2 percent of the vote, while Brzozowski received 34.8 percent of the vote.

In the race for 74th State Representative District, Lee County gave Republican Incumbent Dan Swanson 67.55 percent of the vote, while challenger Christopher Demink received 32.45 percent of the vote. 

In the race for 90th State Representative District, Lee County voted in favor of Republican incumbent Tom Demmer with 64.88 percent of the vote compared to challenge Seth Wiggins with 35. 12 percent of the vote. Demmer has a strong lead overall, but Ogle County announced discovered that the electronic vote tabulators did not read the oval marks correctly in this race. The programming error was limited to this race and no other races were affected. The programming error has been corrected and in accordance with Illinois law, the Ogle County Clerk's office will conduct a Public Test of the re-programmed electronic tabulation equipment on Monday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. at the courthouse in Oregon. The retabulation process will then begin on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 9 a.m.

Lee County voted for a new Circuit Clerk giving their votes to Republican Amy Johnson. Johnson received 53.55 percent of the vote while incumbent Denise McCaffrey Ehrmann received 46.45 percent of the vote.

Lee County also voted No 71.78 percent for the proposed Constitutional Amendment.
