DIXON — The Lee County Honor Flight, a Chapter of the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities, will host a Baked Potato and Soup Bar to raise funds for an upcoming Honor Flight Trip to Washington D.C. The Baked Potato and Soup Bar will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Dixon VFW, 1560 Franklin Grove Road, IL Route 38, just east of Dixon. The baked potato bar with “all the fixin’s” and soup choices (including chili, ham and bean, vegetable and chicken noodle) will be available for a good will offering. All proceeds will benefit the Honor Flight.

Applications for veterans and guardians will be on hand at the fundraiser. Applications are also available online at HonorFlightQC.org. The flights are free for veterans. All guardians are volunteers and pay their own way.

If you know of a World War II, Korea or Vietnam Veteran that might like to participate in the upcoming Oct. 29 Honor Flight Trip, bring them to the supper to find out more. Questions about the Lee County Honor Flight Chapter or the Oct. 29 Honor Flight Trip may be directed to Tom Bushman at 815-440-3054.
