Lee County COVID-19 Update: April 21, 2021

LEE COUNTY — The Lee County Health Department announced the death two Lee County resident – a male in his 70s and a female in her 80s. This brings the total number of deaths to 69.

Between April 13-19, the Lee County Health Department has reported a total of 91 new cases have been reported, including one from the Dixon Correctional Center. Here are the ages that were reported: 11 under the age of 12, 5 in his or her teens, 16 in his or her 20s, 19 in his or her 30s, 9 in his or her 40s, 11 in his or her 50s, 9 in his or her 60s, 6 in his or her 70s, and 4 in his or her 80s.

This brings the total number of cases to 3,716 as of April 19. They also reported as of April 19, 14 residents have been hospitalized and 69 residents have died.

The Lee County Health Department’s website has a COVID-19 section, including information for people who have tested positive. This provides guidance as you wait to hear from one of the health department’s contact tracers. There is sometimes a delay between residents receiving their positive results and the report getting to the health department; additionally, they are experiencing a surge in cases and likely have a good number of people already on their list to be contacted in the order received. Vaccine

As of April 16, according to IDPH 18,598 does of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Lee County, and a total of 8,260 people in Lee County have received both does of the vaccine.
